The first half was fiercely contested by both teams. The home side started nervously, but as the minutes went by, they settled in, and the right wing began to work well with a speedy Maverick, who delivered a couple of passes that Aliou missed by just a few centimeters. Joan also tried his luck with a powerful shot that went over the crossbar. The most controversial moment came with Aliou’s disallowed goal. He rose with the keeper, putting the custodian under pressure, and headed the ball into the net, but the referee ruled that the goalkeeper had it under control. The visitors had much of the control in midfield, with Fede mostly watching the play unfold.
The second half began with a left-footed shot from Maverick, which Daniel stopped in two attempts. In the 52nd minute, Rayo Ibense was reduced to ten men after Murillo was sent off. The clearest chance came from Joel, whose powerful strike hit the crossbar, with Maxi sending the rebound over. The unfortunate moment of the match came with a collision between Fede and Ivans. At first, both players seemed to recover, but near the end of the match, the visiting player collapsed and had to be stretchered off and taken to hospital.
The goalless draw keeps Jávea in 7th spot on 12 points, five points adrift of the top three. The rojiblancos have now gone five games without a victory and three successive matches without scoring. Next weekend, they travel south to face SC Torrevieja, currently in third place after a comfortable 2-1 win at CD Olímpic, extending their unbeaten run to six games.
