Jávea Players’ next production is guaranteed to provoke and move you. Set in a Bronx Catholic school, it delves deeply into moral ambiguities. You have faith, you believe, but what if doubt crept into your mind and made you have second thoughts: Why does God allow so much suffering in this world? Doesn’t someone always have to be found to blame for this suffering, so we can safely slip back into our daily routine?

Directed by Tony Kitlinsky, a 46-year theatre veteran, who brings this timely and thought-provoking play to life. Doubt: a Parable is blunt yet subtle, manipulative, but full of empathy for all sides.

Father Flynn is played by James Grigor. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, he was always rehearsing for some theatrical production or another, mostly popular musicals. His mother attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, hence acting was very much in his blood.

An acting workshop in 2021 rekindled James’ joy of acting. Since then, he has appeared in The Mousetrap, Wife After Death and Blythe Spirit for the Jávea Players. This is his fourth outing: a serious play which will challenge perceptions of certainty and doubt.
