Comedy about two feisty roommates runs April 20–25 at the Jávea Players Studio.

Ripcord 1

Who will win the one upmanship battle? To reveal much about the plot of Ripcord would detract from the surprises and witty repartee, but I can assure you, it will be fun-filled evening.

Introducing the cast:

Claire Schoonover (Abby) is very excited to be a part of Ripcord with Jávea Players. She recently directed Our Town and was so impressed by the local talent here that she was inspired to get back onstage. Claire studied Classical Acting in Washington DC and appeared in several shows there. She has so much respect for the cast and crew and sincerely hopes you enjoy the show.

Pauline McGough (Marilyn) trained in performing arts at Tring Park School. She trod the boards on tours and in the West End and appeared in several TV shows. Here in Spain, she set up and ran a Theatre-in-Education group as an aid for children to learn English. She was also a presenter on Onda Cero International radio for the English-speaking expat community.

Harold Pierce (Scotty) is an American actor who has been living in Jávea for nine years and was last seen in Jávea Players production of Our Town as the Stage Manager. He’s also a singer-songwriter and currently writing a play. All thanks to Liza and Ramona Blue.

Jessica Carroll (Colleen) grew up in England and moved to Spain in 2014. She graduated from university in London and is excited to be in her first play as an adult! When not performing, Jessica is either dancing flamenco, singing in a choir, or crocheting. Fun fact: Jessica has performed on the West End!

Zhangirkhan Kassymkanov (Derek) is a film-trained actor who studied at the New York Film Academy. He has appeared in several short films across a range of genres, bringing a grounded and versatile presence to his roles, with a particular interest in character-driven storytelling and emotionally honest performances.

Simon David Desborough (Benjamin) a recent addition to the Jávea Players, he trained up to diploma level in LAMBDA, during which time his most acknowledged role was as the Milky Bar Kid, allowing for semi-retirement at 11 years old. Switching his attention to music, he has performed as a session bassist and festival DJ; still in the saddle, he’s riding the cowboy role further as a carpenter and kitchen fitter.

Ripcord 20th-25th April in the Jávea Players’ Studio at 19.30. Tickets €15.00. For more information see here.
