🟪 FIESTA JESÚS NAZARENO – Mass followed by La Subida and Fireworks

Special EVENING MASS for the ill and disabled, followed by the SOLEMN PROCESSION with the treasured image of Jesús Nazareno from the heart of the historic centre to the chapel of Calvario. Afterwards, there will be FIREWORKS in the Plaza de la Constitución.

NOTE: There is no set time for the firework display; it will happen when the image has been returned to the chapel and the authorities and congregation have made their way to the square. It all depends on the speed of the SUBIDA. It could be as early as 21:30 or as late as 22:45. Listen out for the warning rocket which is fired about 5-10 minutes before the start of the fireworks.

NOTE: There will be a set of rockets fired when the image passes through the tosca archway and into the grounds of the chapel; this isn’t the signal for the start of the fireworks but can be used a guide as to the speed of the SUBIDA. When you hear these rockets, expect about an hour to 90 minutes before the actual display starts in the main square. Our recommendation is to head to the square and enjoy a drink in one of the bars whilst waiting.
