On Sunday 21st December at 11.00am, the Convent of the Augustinian Nuns will host the Christmas Concert 2025, a musical offering rich in sensitivity and seasonal spirit. The concert will feature the Ars Nova choir, conducted by Rubén Penadés, alongside the children’s ensemble Petit Ars, directed by Carme Català and Antonio Caselles, with pianists Antonio Martínez, Pablo Martínez, and Sílvia Ferrer taking part in the performance.

This well established project celebrates Christmas through choral music and the coming together of different generations. The programme offers a rich and varied sound journey that brings together sacred and secular choral works, contemporary compositions, and popular Christmas melodies, with special attention given to the participation of young voices. The repertoire includes works by composers such as Xabier Sarasola, Baltasar Bibiloni, John Rutter, and Pietro A. Yon, as well as special arrangements by Rubén Penadés, Federick H. Martens, and Petit Ars itself.

Highlights of the concert include pieces such as O Sacrum Convivium, Navidad con los Niños, Hymne à la Nuit, and the well known All I Want for Christmas Is You, alongside deeply poetic and emotional works like Caresse sur l’Océan and Gesù Bambino. Together, these selections create a musical experience designed for audiences of all ages, blending tradition, modernity, and emotion.

The Christmas Concert 2025 is presented as an unmissable occasion to enjoy live music in a unique heritage setting and to share the Christmas spirit through collective vocal expression. Admission will be free until capacity is reached. The organisers wish to thank the Xàbia Council and, in particular, the Convent of the Augustinian Nuns for hosting the Christmas Concert in recent years and for helping to establish it as a cherished cultural tradition in the town.
