Carnival Makes a Colourful Comeback in Xàbia
Costumes, kids and confetti take over the historic centre after weather delay.
After being postponed due to a weather alert on February 14, Carnival finally returned at the weekend to Xàbia and it was well worth the wait. The celebration kicked off in the afternoon with a children’s parade through the streets of the historic centre. Youngsters, proudly parading their costumes alongside family and friends, stole the spotlight from the very first step. Capes fluttered, tiny superheroes marched with serious determination, and fantasy seemed to spill cheerfully from every corner.
The festive mood continued with the “Festival Kids” show, which delighted families and transformed the large marquee set up in Plaza de la Constitución into a buzzing hub of music, laughter and bright imagination.
During the event, prizes were awarded for the best costumes in what proved to be a particularly high standard edition. The winners were:
- Individual Prize: Ratoncito
- Couple Prize: Perrito de Toy Story
- Group Prize: Bolas de Nieve
With costumes this creative and spirits this high, Carnival’s return felt less like a rescheduled event and more like a triumphant encore.
