CARNAVAL XÀBIA 2024 | THE DETAILS

The two parades will pass through the streets of the old town this evening.

Today – Saturday 10th – is Carnaval (‘Carnestoltes’ in Valencian) and this evening there are two main fancy dress parades through the streets of the old town. Here are the essential details you need to know.

Children’s Parade, 5.30pm

START: Plaza de la Constitución
Participants who want to be considered for a prize who registered at the bar in the main square at 5.00pm. The parade will begin at 5.30pm in the same square and will follow an anti-clockwise route around the perimeter of the historic centre (see route map below) through Placeta del Convent, along Ronda Sur, up through the post office square, and then down the main road until turning right back to the main square.

When everyone has returned, there will be a children’s show “FANTASYLAND” followed by the now-ubiquitous “TARDEO” with a rock-pop disco, and bar and food service.

Adults Parade, 11.30pm

START: Placeta del Convent
As with the children’s parade, those wishing to be considered for a prize for their fancy dress should register by 11.00pm at the bar in Plaza de la Constitución. However, the start of the parade will be at Placeta del Convent at 11.30pm and will follow the same route as the children’s parade, finished at the Plaza de la Constitución where there will be live music from L’ORQUESTRA MONTECARLO to dance away the night.
