Xàbia Observes Palm Sunday with Traditional Blessing Ceremonies
Residents gather at the churches of San Bartolomé and Loreto to mark the start of Semana Santa.
The municipality of Xàbia marked Domingo de Ramas (Palm Sunday) with well-attended ceremonies that highlighted the town’s enduring religious traditions and community participation.
Observances took place at the fortress-church of San Bartolomé in the heart of the historic centre and the parish church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, located in Duanes de la Mar. In both locations, residents gathered for the traditional blessing of palms and olive branches, a key event marking the beginning of Semana Santa (Holy Week).
