Xàbia to Host Youth Rugby Tournament Promoting Sport and Inclusion
Family-friendly event on 21 March will bring together young teams while celebrating World Down Syndrome Day.
Young rugby players will take centre stage on Saturday 21st March as Club Àguiles Rugby Xàbia hosts a youth tournament at the Camp Municipal d’Esports, bringing together teams from across the region for a morning of sport, learning and family-friendly atmosphere.
The event was presented at a press conference attended by the councillor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP), and the club’s president, Rubén Martínez. Both highlighted the importance of continuing to promote grassroots sport and initiatives that encourage values such as coexistence, respect and inclusion among young people.
The tournament will bring together teams from the Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12 categories for a morning of sport focused on enjoying rugby in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event will also coincide with World Down Syndrome Day, highlighting the importance of inclusion both on and off the field.

The day will run from 10.00am to 1.00pm and, in addition to the matches, will feature a variety of parallel activities for the whole family, including inflatable games, raffles and prizes. There will also be a non-contact rugby workshop open to both children and adults, taking place from 12.15pm to 1.00pm.
The community is invited to head to the Camp Municipal d’Esports and enjoy a morning of rugby and family activities, while showing support for Club Àguiles Rugby Xàbia and the continued growth of grassroots sport in the municipality. Admission will be free.
