TRAM d’Alacant Records 1.4 Million Passengers in February as Line 2 Remains the Network’s Busiest Route
Regional operator FGV reports nearly 9.7 million total passengers across Alicante and Valencia rail systems.
The TRAM d’Alacant network carried 1,416,586 passengers in February, marking a 2.68 percent decrease compared with the same month in 2025, according to figures released by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV). The busiest day of the month was Friday 20th February, when 64,325 passengers used the Alicante-area system.
The network, which includes four tram lines, one train-tram service and one conventional rail line, forms part of the wider rail services operated by FGV. Across both Alicante and Valencia, the operator recorded 9,660,583 passengers in February, combining 1,416,586 trips on TRAM d’Alacant with 8,243,997 journeys on the Metrovalencia network.
By line, Line 2, linking Luceros Station with Sant Vicent del Raspeig, was the most heavily used route, registering 562,937 passenger movements. It was followed by Line 1, which connects Luceros with Benidorm, with 302,703 trips. Line 3, running between Luceros and El Campello, recorded 204,842 journeys, while Line 4, linking Luceros with Plaza La Coruña, carried 146,369 passengers.
Further down the list, Line 9, which runs between Benidorm and Dénia, registered 127,085 trips, and Line 5, connecting Porta del Mar with Plaza La Coruña, recorded 72,650 journeys.
In terms of station traffic, Luceros was the busiest stop on the network with 219,793 passengers, followed by Mercado with 129,382 users. Next were Sant Vicent del Raspeig with 88,880 passengers, Benidorm with 82,072, and Marq-Castillo with 66,112. Completing the top ten were El Campello with 46,486 passengers, Bulevar del Plá with 46,259, Garbinet with 44,183, Pintor Gastón Castelló with 39,461, and Hospital with 39,061 passenger movements.
