International Tourism to the Comunidad Valenciana Reaches Record Levels in 2025

Visitor spending exceeded €16 billion as arrivals and average expenditure hit historic highs.

The international tourism sector in the Comunidad Valenciana has maintained its growth trajectory and closed 2025 with historic figures, both in terms of foreign arrivals and tourist spending, according to the latest data published by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE).

The Border Tourist Movements Survey (FRONTUR) and the Tourist Expenditure Survey (EGATUR) show that the Comunidad Valenciana reached a new record in international tourism spending in 2025, with a total of €16.045 billion, representing a 6.09 percent increase compared with 2024, when spending stood at €15.124 billion. Average spending per tourist in 2025 reached €1,292, the highest figure recorded to date, while average daily spending also rose by 5.31 percent year on year, reaching €139 per day.

The number of international tourists visiting the Comunidad Valenciana last year also reached an all-time high, with 12,422,659 arrivals, an increase of 4.26 percent compared with the previous year. In 2024, a total of 11.9 million foreign tourists visited the destination.

The Regional Minister for Industry, Tourism, Innovation and Trade, Marián Cano, highlighted that “we have managed to close the year in line with forecasts, both in arrivals and revenue, placing the Comunidad Valenciana at the best point in its history for international tourism.” She added that “these figures consolidate the Comunidad Valenciana as an increasingly competitive and attractive destination in international markets,” and stressed that “the Consell will continue to strengthen international promotion efforts, both in traditional markets and in those with the greatest growth potential.”

December Results

INE data also show that in December 2025, the Comunidad Valenciana welcomed 704,494 international tourists, representing a 5.63 percent increase compared with the same month the previous year.

In terms of spending, international visitors spent €923 million in December, an 8.77 percent increase year on year and the highest figure ever recorded for a month of December. Average spending per tourist stood at €1,310, up 2.97 percent, while average daily spending reached €125, a 12.23 percent increase compared with December 2024.
