Xàbia Local Police Record More Than 8,200 Interventions in 2025

The town hall says that the annual report highlights a year of continuous service and a modern, responsive police force.

Xàbia Council’s Department of Public Safety has presented the Policia Local annual activity report for 2025. Beyond the figures, the document reflects the consolidation of a modern police force, prepared to face new challenges and maintaining uninterrupted service throughout all 365 days of the year, with the aim of ensuring safety across the municipality. It also records that the force responded to a total of 8,234 interventions.

The statistical analysis for 2025 provides a detailed snapshot of the force’s operational activity, showing how resources were adapted to periods of greater social demand. In terms of monthly distribution, activity levels remained consistently high, with clear peaks during the summer season. August and July recorded the highest number of interventions, with 1,171 and 1,014 incidents respectively. February, by contrast, was the quietest month, with 443 services. Weekly analysis shows that Saturdays saw the highest number of citizen requests, with 1,104 services, followed by Thursdays (975) and Sundays (968). Mondays recorded the lowest level of activity, with 821 incidents.

Throughout 2025, the Local Police handled an average of 23 services per day, with 15 August standing out as the busiest day of the year, registering 53 incidents. The report also examines the distribution of interventions by time of day, highlighting the force’s operational capacity around the clock. The afternoon shift (2:00 pm to 10:00 pm) accounted for 39 percent of services, followed by the morning shift (6:00 am to 2:00 pm) with 32 percent, and the night shift (10:00 pm to 6:00 am) with the remaining 29 percent.

The combinations of day and shift with the highest number of incidents were the Saturday night shift, with 396 services, the Friday afternoon shift, with 380, and the Thursday morning shift, with 353 interventions. Looking at specific time slots, the period between 12:00 and 1:00 pm recorded the highest number of incidents, with 455 services, while the early-morning slot between 5:00 and 6:00 am was the quietest, with 147 interventions.

The work of the Xàbia Local Police in 2025 went well beyond routine patrol duties, covering key areas related to public safety and community well-being. In the area of community policing and assistance, officers carried out 2,140 services, including 526 interventions related to medical emergencies or situations of vulnerability, reinforcing the force’s strong service-oriented role.

In terms of public safety and prevention, 1,895 interventions were carried out, contributing to a significant reduction in criminal activity within the municipality. Road safety was also a priority, with 1,729 services, focused on road safety education and preventive checks, particularly targeting distracted driving and the consumption of alcohol and drugs. Meanwhile, administrative policing accounted for 2,470 interventions, mainly linked to disturbances, official notifications and issues related to community coexistence. Mediation, neighbourhood conflict resolution and noise control also remained key pillars in maintaining quality of life across the town’s different neighbourhoods.

Mayor Rosa Cardona spoke highly of the police force’s work, stating that “the 2025 figures reflect a committed team. Behind every statistic there is a story of service and an unwavering commitment to this municipality.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Local Police will continue to strengthen their role as a close, approachable public service, consolidating their position as a trusted institution for the residents of Xàbia.
