The official press presentation of the Xàbia International Tennis Circuit – ITF World Tennis Tour W15 took place on Wednesday, a top-tier sporting event that will place the town on the international tennis map from 1 to 8 February 2026 at the Club de Tenis Jávea.

The event was attended by Mayor Rosa Cardona; the councillor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP); the President of Club de Tenis Jávea, Vicent Andrés; and the President of the Comunidad Valenciana Tennis Federation, Paco Vicent. All highlighted the tournament’s importance for the town, not only in sporting terms but also for its social and economic impact.

Organised by Club de Tenis Jávea in collaboration with Xàbia Council and the Comunidad Valenciana Tennis Federation, the tournament forms part of the official ITF World Tennis Tour calendar and is endorsed by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation. It will be the first venue of the second edition of the Comunidad Valenciana International Tennis Circuit, further consolidating Xàbia’s position as a host town for high-level sporting competitions.

The competition will begin with the qualifying rounds on 1st, 2nd and 3rd February, with the main draw taking place from 3rd to 8th February. The tournament will feature players ranked among the world’s top 500, guaranteeing a week of high-quality matches.

Alongside the professional competition, a wide-ranging programme of complementary activities will be held. These include sessions aimed at local schools, where students will have the opportunity to discover pickleball and gain first-hand insight into how an international tournament is organised. Clinics with participating players will also be organised, encouraging direct interaction between professional tennis and grassroots sport.

In addition, the Juan Olivert y Josele Pastor Trophy will be held during the tournament week for under-12 and under-14 categories, featuring the eight top-ranked players from the Comunidad Valenciana. The aim of this competition is to award sports training scholarships, granted by the Comunidad Valenciana Tennis Federation.

Mayor Rosa Cardona expressed her satisfaction at hosting an event of this calibre, noting that “it is a prestigious sporting event that attracts families and visitors alike and helps strengthen Xàbia’s profile as a sports destination.” She also wished all participants and spectators “an excellent tournament.”

The ITF World Tennis Tour W15 is expected to have a very positive impact on the town, both in terms of its international visibility and the boost it provides to the local economy and tourism sector, as well as citizen participation and media coverage at local and regional level.
