Granadella Trail 2026 Returns to Xàbia with International Appeal
The popular trail-running event will return on 31 January and 1 February with around 1,400 participants.
The official presentation of the Granadella Trail 2026 took place on Tuesday, a sporting event organised by Club Esportiu Llebeig that will once again position the municipality as a benchmark for trail running at local, national and international level. It will take place on Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1st February 2026.
During the press conference, Xàbia’s councillor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP), highlighted the importance of the event for the town and thanked Club Esportiu Llebeig for organising such a significant race for Xàbia, not only because of its sporting value but also for its wider visibility and outreach. Molina stressed that the Granadella Trail helps showcase the natural surroundings of the Granadella Natural Park, attracting entire families who spend the weekend in Xàbia combining sport and tourism.
Edu Vallés, a member of Club Esportiu Llebeig, explained that participation figures are expected to be similar to last year’s, with around 1,400 runners, including adults and children, confirming the continued success of the event.
On Saturday 31st January, the 14-kilometre Sprint Trail will be held, starting at 9:30 am, along with the Mini Trail for younger participants from 4:00 pm.
On Sunday 1st February, the 21-kilometre and 5-kilometre races will be run.
Raúl Bover, also from the organising club, added that the race enjoys a high level of international participation, with runners travelling from countries such as the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy. He noted that the Granadella Trail has become a family-friendly event that helps reduce seasonality in tourism, something reflected in the high hotel occupancy rates reported by local accommodation providers for that weekend.
Bringing the presentation to a close, José Palacio outlined the new merchandising for this edition. As in previous years, participants will receive a commemorative mug, and as a novelty this year they will be able to choose between a T-shirt or a backpack, with the option of purchasing both items at a reduced price. Club Esportiu Llebeig also took the opportunity to thank the Department of Sports in Xàbia for its ongoing support, as well as the five sponsors whose collaboration makes the event possible.
