TRAM d’Alacant enabled 19,015,836 passenger journeys in 2025 across its network of four tram lines, one train-tram line and one suburban rail line. Across Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) as a whole, total journeys made last year on TRAM d’Alacant, with just over 19 million passengers, and Metrovalencia, with 91,640,139, reached a combined figure of 110,655,975 journeys. Compared with 2024, this represents a decrease of 6.5 percent, as the previous year surpassed 20 million passengers across the entire TRAM d’Alacant network.

FGV managing director Alfonso Novo explained that 2025 still delivered a strong result, marking the second best year in the history of TRAM d’Alacant, noting that passenger numbers were affected, among other factors, by works carried out on the section between Hospital Vila and Benidorm, which required temporary service interruptions at different times along that stretch.

Novo also highlighted the performance of Line 9 between Benidorm and Dénia. Since reopening in full on 28 January 2025, the line has recorded growth of more than 19 percent compared with 2024, when it was still undergoing major works.

Looking at the year as a whole, June stood out as the busiest period, boosted by the Hogueras fiesta in Alicante, with close to two million passengers. Luceros station once again became the main hub for TRAM d’Alacant users, while Line 2 was the most heavily used route.

June was the month with the highest passenger numbers, reaching 1,968,607 journeys, followed by July with 1,745,476 and May with 1,668,163. April recorded 1,610,988 journeys, August 1,594,620, March 1,573,977, September 1,542,855 and October 1,527,123. January reached 1,491,106 journeys, February 1,455,647, November 1,446,114 and December closed the year with 1,391,160 passengers. These figures reflect a daily average of 52,098 passengers across the TRAM d’Alacant network, with a monthly average of 1,584,653 journeys throughout 2025.

The busiest day of the year was 21 June, when 107,258 passengers used the service. This was followed by 23 June with 103,107 users, 22 June with 102,182 and 24 June with 90,295, all coinciding with the Hogueras of Alicante. Outside the main festival period, the highest traffic was recorded on 16 April, with 76,810 passengers.

By line, Line 2, which links Luceros with Sant Vicent del Raspeig, was the most used in 2025, carrying 7,556,521 passengers. It was followed by Line 1 between Luceros and Benidorm with 3,915,836 users, Line 3 connecting Luceros and El Campello with 2,979,521, and Line 4 between Luceros and Plaza La Coruña with 2,185,710. Line 9, running between Benidorm and Dénia, recorded 1,351,649 passengers, while Line 5, linking Porta del Mar and Plaza La Coruña, reached 1,027,101 journeys.

In terms of station traffic, Luceros once again topped the ranking with 3,366,262 passengers. Mercado followed with 2,126,156, while Sant Vicent del Raspeig took third place with 1,138,939.
