One of the most traditional events of the Sant Antoni festivities is the In Xàbia, the event is organised by the CAE El Tiraset.

On Saturday night, hundreds of residents once again gathered to witness the burning of the pine, la Cremà del Pi, a Valencian celebration whose origins are linked to the agricultural community’s devotion to the saints, seeking good harvests and the fertility of their livestock. The pine was set alight amid great anticipation, reinforcing the growing importance and participation this event enjoys each year.

The celebration was organised by the CAE El Tiraset, with support from Penya La Burrera Penya and the collaboration of Quadra Pichi who played a central role during the morning by transporting the pine, a symbolic act that marked the start of the festivities.

The Cremà del Pi was accompanied by a lively festive atmosphere, with live music performances by the duo Oxigen and the young rock group Batisjaus, who set the rhythm for an evening enjoyed by all.

On Sunday, the Sant Antoni festivities continued to fill Xàbia’s historic centre with tradition during the blessing of animals and the horse and cart parade through the town streets. The turnout was once again impressive, with hundreds of people bringing their pets and animals to the Plaça de la Constitució for the blessing.

After the main ceremony, attendees received the traditional bread roll and a commemorative image of the patron saint, preserving one of the most deeply rooted customs of the festival. The day concluded with the popular raffle, another long-standing highlight of the celebration.
