Luck smiles on Alicante as ONCE distributes €1.6 million in just one weekend
The Weekend Coupon’s Sueldazo delivers €1.54 million to Alicante, with more winning tickets sold in Redován and Xàbia.
Lady Luck paid Alicante province a very generous visit last weekend, leaving behind a total of €1.6 million thanks to several winning tickets from ONCE’s Cuponazo and Cupón Fin de Semana draws.
The biggest smile came in the city of Alicante, where a single ticket from Saturday’s draw scooped up the coveted Sueldazo: €5,000 a month for 20 years plus €300,000 in cash. As if that weren’t enough, two more tickets in the city landed €20,000 each, bringing the total haul in Alicante to an eye-catching €1,540,000. The lucky ticket was sold by ONCE vendor Steven Gabriel Pezantes Acurio, based at the organisation’s Alicante headquarters.
The good fortune didn’t stop there. Another €40,000 prize from Friday’s Cuponazo draw went to Redován, thanks to a ticket sold by José Delgado Rubira, an ONCE vendor since 2006. And Sunday added one last flourish to the weekend of wins, with €20,000 landing in Xàbia. The winning ticket was sold by Juan Carlos Hernández Cuesta, a vendor attached to ONCE’s Benidorm agency, from his stand on Avenida de la Libertad.
ONCE coupons are part of a social, safe and responsible lottery model, with strict controls in place to prevent underage sales, excessive gambling or play on credit. The organisation also uses evaluation and monitoring systems backed by international responsible-gaming bodies.
Today, ONCE products are sold by more than 20,500 vendors across Spain, along with authorised outlets and digital channels, proving that sometimes luck really does get around.
