CD Jávea Deserved More Against Eldense B in Entertaining 2–2 Draw
Late Aliou equaliser rewards Jávea’s dominant second half at the Campo Municipal.
The match, played on Sunday morning at the Campo Municipal d’Esports in Xàbia between CD Jávea and CD Eldense B, was fiercely contested by both sides. The first half was evenly balanced, while the second saw the home team push forward relentlessly and do enough to deserve victory.
The game started well for Jávea. A run down the left by Maverick nearly opened the scoring, but he took one touch too many. The same player later had a clear chance with a header, only for a defender to clear the ball off the goal line with the goalkeeper already beaten. Eldense also created chances and, in an unfortunate moment for the hosts, Jorge Pastor scored from inside the box. The visitors went into the break leading 0–1.
There were no changes at the restart, but Jávea’s approach was transformed. They showed more energy and determination, fighting for every ball. Adrián nearly equalised after beating two defenders, but his shot flew just over the crossbar. The equaliser eventually came through Aliou after the visiting goalkeeper brought down the striker inside the area and last season’s top scorer fired home from the spot with calm confidence.
Later in the second half came a key moment. Joel went one on one with David and chipped the ball over him, only for the Eldense keeper to pull off a spectacular save. That save proved decisive. Eldense cleared the resulting corner and countered quickly and, within two strides, were at the other end, where Josman scored the second goal after finishing a rebound from a shot that had struck the post.
Aliou was Jávea’s most dangerous player in the second half and had a number of chances, the best of which was a toe-poked shot straight at the keeper, but with just two minutes left before full time, Aliou beat the goalkeeper and scored the equaliser from the narrowest of angles around the right-hand post to make it 2–2. Five minutes of stoppage time followed, with Jávea throwing everyone forward and Eldense threatening on the counter, before the match came to an end.
