Hotels in Valencian region set new record in October with 2.7 million overnight stays, 4% more than in 2024

Overnight stays from January to October are nearing 28 million, securing the highest figure ever recorded for this period.

Hotels in the Comunidad Valenciana recorded 2,799,094 overnight stays in October, a 4% increase compared with the same month in 2024, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

In total, 883,558 travelers stayed in hotels in October, marking 5.2% year-on-year growth. Of these, 431,938 were residents of Spain and 451,620 came from abroad. In terms of overnight stays, international tourism once again took the lead, accounting for 1,669,163 nights, compared with 1,129,931 nights by domestic travelers.

The regional minister for Tourism, Marián Cano, emphasized that these results “confirm the positive trend in the hotel sector in the Comunidad Valenciana, which continues to show solid growth both in traveler numbers and in overnight stays.”

Cano also highlighted the importance of international tourism, noting that “foreign visitors continue to play a key role in driving our tourism activity and consolidating the Comunidad Valenciana as a competitive and highly valued global destination.”

During the first ten months of the year, hotels in the Comunidad Valenciana registered 27,947,971 overnight stays, an increase of 1.3% compared with the same period in 2024. This volume places the sector at record highs for this time of year.

The total number of travelers staying between January and October reached 8,750,169, up 1.8% year-on-year, confirming steady growth in tourism demand.

Minister Marián Cano praised these results, stating that “the cumulative data confirms that the sector continues on a strong upward path. Being on the verge of reaching 28 million overnight stays, the highest figure in the entire historical series for this period, shows that the Comunidad Valenciana is steadily strengthening its position as a leading destination for our visitors.”
