Work continues on the second phase of the Riurau d’Arnauda restoration, bringing exciting developments to this iconic heritage site. The project includes the construction of a new storage facility, two accessible bathrooms, the rerouting of erosion-causing pipes, and a traditional grape scalding oven, an addition that will integrate the site fully into the Ruta dels Riuraus, an initiative aimed at preserving and showcasing the historical heritage of the Marina region.
This long-awaited intervention not only safeguards a remarkable architectural landmark but also adapts it for modern use. Once completed, the Riurau will become a versatile space capable of hosting stage performances, reenactments of the Royal Camp of the Three Kings, educational activities, and outdoor events throughout the year.

Accessibility improvements, landscape integration, and the recovery of traditional elements will reinforce the site’s historical coherence. The new grape scalding oven, in particular, will allow visitors to learn hands-on about the traditional production of raisins, enhancing the site’s ethnographic value.
“This progress excites me greatly,” said the councillor for Culture, Mavi Pérez Font (CpJ). “The renovation of the Riurau d’Arnauda plot responds to a long-standing public demand and holds immense cultural and social potential. Once the they are complete, it will serve as a vibrant community hub and a landmark for heritage in the entire region.”
