Club History
SC Torrevieja was founded in 2020 as the successor to Torrevieja CF, a club that had been a central part of the town’s football scene since 1971. The dissolution of Torrevieja CF that same year marked the end of an era, but SC Torrevieja CF quickly stepped in to continue the town’s footballing legacy.
In its debut season, the club was crowned champions of Group 17 of the Segunda Regional, earning promotion to the next level. The following season, a transitional period as regional football slowly recovered from the pandemic, saw SC Torrevieja finish second in Group 9.
The 2022/23 season brought further success: the team won the championship of Group 8 in the Primera Regional, followed by another title in Group 4 of the newly-formed Primera FFCV, securing promotion to the southern group of the Lliga Comunitat – the top regional tier – for the 2024/25 season. There, the club achieved its highest league position to date, finishing 8th.
In the same season, SC Torrevieja also enjoyed its best run in the regional cup, reaching the Round of 32 in the Copa Comunitat Mediterrànea (La Nostra Copa), before being knocked out by CD Thader.
Home form has boosted SC Torrevieja’s ambitions for the 2025/26 season. Eleven wins from 13 games and just one defeat combined with a huge haul of 38 goals, including a 9-0 thrashing of UD Benigànim back in early November, has kept the club amongst the pace-setters. Form away from home has been markedly different with three wins from 11 games and just eight goals scored, one of the lowest hauls in the whole league. They have maintained a spot in the top three since late October and, at the time of writing (11/03/26), they are four points behind league leaders CD Eldense ‘B’.
Head to Head Record
CD Jávea and SC Torrevieja met for the first time on November 16th 2025. Two goals from Joel put the rojiblancos into a commanding – and rather surprising – half-time lead, the first goals to be conceded by the home side on their own soil in the season. However, Torrevieja stormed back to form in the second period, scoring four goals; a consolation strike from Aliou right before full-time reduced the deficit to 3-4.
