New affordable housing project takes shape in Xàbia
82 sustainable and energy-efficient homes – including 16 dedicated to social housing – to provide real, long-term solutions for young people, families, and residents in need of support.
The Urban Planning Commission has reviewed the license request for a new development of 82 public housing units, promoted by FAMA Rehabilitaciones S.L. This initiative responds to a real housing need in the municipality and marks a firm step by the local government toward providing sustainable, socially aware housing solutions for Xàbia’s residents.
The homes have been designed with a focus on functionality, comfort, and energy efficiency, catering to those looking to become independent or improve their living conditions. They will feature open spaces, fully equipped kitchens, terraces, and one or two bedrooms, offering a variety of layouts – from studios to two-bedroom apartments – to meet the diverse needs of individuals and families alike.
To make the project possible, the local council has provided municipal land to the Generalitat Valenciana, ensuring that the homes are sold at regulated prices in line with current legislation. This guarantees that only qualified buyers can access these homes and that the entire process remains transparent and fair.
Of the 82 units, 16 will be reserved for social use by the local council, which will oversee their adaptation and maintenance. These include studios intended for individuals in temporary need of housing or other special cases identified by the Social Services Department.
The Generalitat will supervise the entire process – from planning and construction to final allocation – ensuring all technical, legal, and transparency standards are met. The price per square meter is set by law, and housing assignments will follow clear social and technical criteria, ensuring fairness at every stage.
