Novelda Unión CF was founded in 2018 after the merger of Novelda UD and Racing de Novelda. In its debut season (2018/19), the club won Group 14 of the Segunda Regional and secured promotion. The following year, despite the season being cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic, they finished third in Group 7 of the Regional Primera, earning a second consecutive promotion to the top tier of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana at the time, the Regional Preferente. They competed there for three seasons before dropping back to the second tier following a restructuring of regional football.
A second-place finish in Group 4 of the Primera FFCV gave the club a shot at promotion through the play-offs, which they secured with a narrow 1-0 aggregate win over Paterna CF. Their momentum carried into cup competitions as well, reaching the Round of 16 of the Copa Comunitat Mediterrànea – La Nostra Copa, where they were eliminated on penalties by UD Vall de Uxó after a goalless draw. The following season (2024/25), they went even further, making it to the semi-finals before falling 4-2 on aggregate to eventual winners Manises CF. In the league, Novelda Unión CF Cableworld achieved its best-ever finish, taking 5th place in the southern group of the Lliga Comunitat.
In 2024, the club entered into a sponsorship agreement with Valencian telecommunications company Cableworld, providing the club with essential financial support, enabling it to invest in infrastructure, enhance its youth development programmes, and improve overall team performance. In return, the company name was added to the club’s official name, a common agreement in Spanish lower-tier and regional football.
