Crime drops in Xàbia during first half of 2025
Xàbia saw a 9.6% fall in total criminal offenses in the first half of 2025, with notable declines in drug trafficking, assaults, and cybercrime, though some thefts and violent robberies saw slight increases.
Xàbia recorded a 9.6% drop in total criminal offenses during the first half of 2025, according to the latest Crime Statistics Report from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior. Between January and June, 824 offenses were reported, down from 912 in the same period of 2024.
Common crimes, including petty theft, burglaries, and assaults, fell by 6%, from 765 cases in 2024 to 719 in 2025. Among the most significant drops were serious and minor assault cases, which fell by 40.9%, drug trafficking, down 40%, and break-ins at homes, businesses, and other facilities, which decreased by 13.5%.
However, not all crime types followed this downward trend. Pickpocketing rose slightly by 4%, from 177 to 184 cases, while violent and intimidating robberies increased 33.3%, from 6 to 8 incidents. Break-ins at homes also saw a 17.2% uptick, climbing from 99 to 116 cases.
Cybercrime continued its decline, dropping 28.6% from 147 incidents in 2024 to 105 in 2025. Within this category, online fraud, the most common type, fell 30.5%, while other cyber offenses decreased by 15.8%.
Overall, the figures suggest that while Xàbia is seeing encouraging reductions in many traditional and digital crimes, vigilance is still needed for certain types of theft and home invasions.
