The correfocs is one of the most exhilarating traditions of Mediterranean fiestas. As night falls, costumed figures take to the streets, carrying staves fitted with spinning fireworks that shower sparks all around them. To the beat of drums, they weave through the crowd, who, far from being passive spectators, become part of the spectacle as they dash, dance, or simply stand wide-eyed under the rain of fire. It’s noisy, chaotic, a little wild, and absolutely unforgettable – something you truly have to experience to understand.
