Benigànim Club de Fútbol was established in 2020 by the former board of directors of UD Benigànim in response to a private takeover of the former by Soccer Inter‑Action, an international football academy and high-performance sports centre based in Enguera. Their aim was to restore a club that truly represented the town of Benigànim, regaining local control and rebuilding local identity.

In their first season, 2020-21, they competed in the Segunda Regional, the bottom tier of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana, and won Group 12, one point ahead of CF Racing Xàtiva to win promotion to the Primera Regional.

Claiming third spot in 2021-22, the club followed it up by finishing top of Group 6 at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, losing just one game and amassing 81 points, their best haul in their short history, to win promotion to the newly formed Primera FFCV. A second-place finish behind UD Carcaixent om Group 3 claimed a play-off spot and a 5-1 aggregate win over UD Paterna saw Benigànim CF claim their third promotion in four seasons and a place in the elite Lliga Comunitat, the top rung of the ladder in regional football.

A third-place finish at the end of the 2024-25 season saw the club in the play-offs, competing for a spot in the Spanish national pyramid just five years after the club was formed. A 4-4 aggregate score against CD Onda resulted in a penalty shoot-out which the latter won 4-2.

By contrast, UD SIA Benigànim, which was competing in the Tercera División between 2019 and 2022, suffered four relegations in a row, finishing second from bottom of Group 5 of the Segona FFCV, the bottom tier of regional football, by which they had renamed themselves to SIA Academy, finally throwing off any identity to the town of Benigànim, even though they continue to play at the municipal football ground.
