The current incarnation of the reserve side of CD Eldense – the first team which represents the town of Elda currently plays in the Primera Federación – was formed in 2017 after a period of inactivity and competed in the Segunda Regional, the bottom tier of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana, until winning promotion at the end of the reduced Covid-era 2020-21 season, finishing in top spot of a special seven-team play-off promotion group.
The following season, the club finished second in Group 8 of the Primera Regional to win promotion of the Regional Preferente where a fourth-place finish was enough to gain a place in the inaugural Llifa Comunitat after regional football was restructured during the summer of 2023. A fifth place finished in the inaugural season was followed by 10th position at the end of last season, a season in which the club feared relegation before the arrival of head coach Claudio Barragán in March 2025 who guided the club away from the drop zone with 21 points gained in eight matches.

We’ve Met Before
The first competitive fixture between CD Jávea and the reserve side of CD Eldense was on September 24th 2023, a match that the latter won 5-1, condemning the rojiblancos to their third successive defeat as they struggled to adapt to the inaugural season of the elite Lliga Comunitat. The return fixture, on February 10th 2024, saw a first-half goal from Ofi secure just the fourth victory in 18 games as Jávea struggled at the bottom of the table and would eventually suffer the first relegation for three decades. CD Eldense “B” finished in fifth spot, four points adrift of the play-offs.
