Xàbia is about to become a little more fun. The local council has awarded the contract to install four themed children’s play areas along Arenal beach, answering a long-standing request from residents and visitors. It’s part of a wider plan to give the town’s playgrounds a much-needed upgrade.

Each new spot comes with its own theme:

  • Under the Sea: a big multi-play complex with towers, walkways, climbing walls, nets and four slides, decorated with fish, seahorses and shells, with space for more than 40 children.
  • Tribox Adventure: towers linked by bridges, slides and climbing features, designed for ages 3 to 14.
  • Pirate Ship: a wooden play structure shaped like a galleon, with slides, a suspension bridge and games for would-be buccaneers.
  • Fantasy Castle: towers, climbing nets, walkways and slides for young knights and princesses.

Work is scheduled to start on Monday 15th September, and when finished, the Arenal won’t just be a beach from which to have a nice swim in the sea, it’ll be one of the best playgrounds in town.
