The troops of the Crescent and the Cross invade the Arenal beach for one night
The Moors and Christians visited the holiday area to parade along the beach promenade.
The Moors and Christians of Xàbia conquered El Arenal beach on Monday evening. At dusk, the crescent-moon and cross bands burst onto the packed Paseo del Tenista David Ferrer, amidst the excitement of numerous residents and visitors who had no choice but to make way for the Filaes.
Led by their respective Standard Bearers flanked by their banners, Elvira Vives led the way for the Touaregs, Almoriscos, Almoradins, Xibia, Schaitans, Baharis, and Al-Tarik’s. Ana Bisquert led the way for the Bandoleres, Ballesters, Trabuquers, Faciners, Smugglers of Xàbia, and a vibrant Filà Capitana Pirates of Sant Jaume with proud Captains Rosa Zamora and José Leal.
The conquest ended with a fireworks display and an aperitif courtesy of the restaurants La Fontana, Posidonia, and Náutica Canal de la Fontana.
