Xàbia and Benidorm HCB Hospital Clinic sign agreement to strengthen emergency training for local police
This is an important step toward improving emergency care and first aid training.
Xàbia Council and the Benidorm HCB Clinical Hospital have signed a collaboration agreement establishing a framework for cooperation between the two institutions.
It has been proven that the officers of the Policía Local have the shortest response time to an emergency, up to four times shorter than the response time of medical personnel. They are the first responders in these services, providing more than 739 emergency medical services last year, 95 more than in 2023.
Advanced healthcare training is essential to assess and treat life-threatening injuries.
This agreement aims to promote first aid training activities and provide officers with the necessary tools to assess and treat major life-threatening injuries as well as conduct a detailed assessment for proper communication with the health services. It also aims to facilitate the provision of necessary training materials, if required. The initiative seeks to increase quality standards in the response of local police officers and other stakeholders involved in the municipality’s emergency services.
Both the councillor responsible for Security, Juan Ortolá (CpJ), and Mayor Rosa Cardona (PP), emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “With this agreement, we reinforce our commitment to ensuring a rapid and effective response to any emergency situation, training our professionals and improving the safety of all residents and visitors.”
Ana Vasbinder, director of the HCB Hospital, expressed her satisfaction at collaborating on an initiative that will contribute to saving lives and strengthening emergency care in the town.
This agreement reflects the joint commitment of both institutions to work together to offer a more prepared and efficient response to any eventuality, promoting ongoing training and inter-institutional cooperation.
