MARINA ALTA FOOTBALL ROUND-UP | 17/18 May 2025
CD Jávea secure at least a play-off spot after crushing bottom club CF Intercity B at home and travel to Callosa Deportiva next week knowing that a draw will be enough to secure the championship and automatic promotion.
Lliga À Punt Comunitat – Grup Sud
With CD BUÑOL and HÉRCULES CF B having secured automatic promotion to the TERCERA FEDERACIÓN as champions of their respective groups, this weekend saw the 2nd and 3rd place teams play the first leg games in the semi-final play-offs to determine who would join them.
CF RECAMBIONS COLÓN CATARROJA take a one-goal advantage into the second leg against CFI ALICANTE after a late goal from substitute Borja Mir Sanjose secured a 2-1 home win. In the other semi-final, UD BENIGÀNIM and CD ONDA had to settle for a 1-1 draw, both goals coming the latter stages of the first half.
Primera FFCV – Grupo 4

CD JÁVEA thumped bottom club CF INTERCITY B 5-1 at home in front of almost 1,200 noisy fans to not only maintain their two-point lead at the top of the table but also secure at least the play-off spot as the season moves into the last round of matches. A draw at Callosa Deportiva would secure the championship and automatic promotion, even if Mutxamel CF win as the rojiblancos hold the better head-to-head record (3-1, 1-0).
MUTXAMEL CF smashed five past BETIS FLORIDA to secure their tenth away win of the season and maintain the pressure on CD Jávea whilst SANTA POLA CF won 4-0 at home to CATRAL-CASTRUM CF to keep alive their hopes of a play-off spot. And CD ALMORADÍ, who won 3-0 at VILLENA CF, could even sneak into the runner-up position if they beat Santa Pola CF at home and Mutxamel CF suffer a home defeat to CD Montesinos.
At the bottom, the battle to avoid relegation will go into the final game. CF Intercity B and CF Sporting San Fulgencio were relegated some weeks ago but it will be a three-way battle between VILLAJOYOSA CF, who lost a six-pointer against BENFERRI CF and drop into the bottom three for the first time this season, Benferri CF, and Villena CF.
There is a similar race for the top spot in Group 1 when CF QUART DE LES VALLS maintain a slim one-point lead over CD VALL D’ALBA; both play away in their final game of the regular season to middle-table sides.
In Group 2, PAIPORTA CF wrapped up the championship some weeks ago so it is now a four-horse race for the play-off spot between MISLATA CF, UD ALDAIA CF, ATLÉTCO BARRIO DE LUZ and SAN ANTONIO BENAGÉBER. Just three points separate Mislata in second spot and San Antonio in 5th.
In Group 3, CE ALBERIC are all but confirmed as champions. They have a three-point lead over CF PROMESAS SUECA who would catch them if the latter win at home to Massanassa CF, however Alberic hold a better head-to-head record (1-0, 1-1) and would be placed higher which means that the Sueca side would have to settle for the play-off spot if they win. Defeat and a victory for MURO CF against Pego CF? Muro would take second spot.

Segona FFCV – Grupo 6

CF SIMAT maintain top spot after a 3-0 win at UD OLIVA and will secure automatic promotion next weekend if they beat Almussafes CF at home. FB TEULADA-MORAIRA are still in the race after a 2-0 home win over CF ORBA – both clubs have secured at least a play-off spot – and travel to Daimús CF for the final game of the regular season knowing a win might just be enough to snatch the title away from CF Simat if the latter suffer a shock defeat.
At the bottom, CD DÉNIA B enjoyed their first win since early March, a 4-1 away victory at UD ALGINET; both have been relegated. The final spot in the drop zone will be a two-way battle between ALMUSSAFES CF who won 2-0 at home to UD BENIOPA and travel to league leaders CF Simat next weekend, CF MIRAMAR, who lost at home to SAFOR CF GANDÍA. CF BELLREGUARD, who lost at home to REAL DE GANDÍA CF, could be caught by Almussafes CF if they lose at UD Beniopa, however they enjoy a better head-to-head record between the two clubs (2-1,1-1) and would be placed higher in the table.
Tercera FFCV – Grupo 12

Champions CF BENITATXELL enjoyed a 4-0 victory at CD EL CAMPELLO B to record their 23rd win of the season and take their goal tally to 100 goals. CEF EL VERGER have already claimed the promotion play-off spot and they drew 1-1 at home to CF UD CALPE B.
