Residents will be able to choose the best tapas of the campaign which will take place from May 4th to May 26th.

The Department of Economic Dynamization has got together with the business associations of Xàbia Historica, Duanes del Mar, Xàbia Arenal, Mercat Municipal de Xàbia and the Restaurant Association of Xàbia (ARX) to create a special event to energise the business and hospitality sector during the month of May.

Entitled “TASTA XÀBIA”, the tapas route will allow residents and visitors to sample the gastronomic delights offered by 23 restaurants throughout the municipality of Xàbia, proof of the very high quality of the hospitality businesses in our municipality, and vote to find the best in town during the campaign which will take place between Saturday 4th May and Sunday 26th May inclusive.

The councillor responsible for Economic Dynamization, Juanlu Cardona (PP), explained that the concept is very simple. Each participating venue will display a poster showcasing the tapas that they are offering and the time during which it can be enjoyed. Each tapas is priced at 4 euros which includes a drink.

Those wishing to participate in voting for the best tapas will need download the “Rutappa” APP (which will be available soon on both the APP Store and Google Play) through which they will be able to rate each tapas to ultimately find the best tapas in Xàbia whilst also entering into a draw for three vouchers worth 200 euros to spend in associated tapas, the condition being that the user must rate at least three tapas on offer during the campaign.

Cardona added that the town hall and the participating trade associations are hoping that the TASTA XÀBIA campaign will help boost the local economy during May whilst José Manuel Piña from ARX said that the event is a great way to promote the gastronomy of Xàbia.
