The Roundabout Charity Shop in Xàbia has joined the efforts to gather together humanitarian aid to support the people of Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression in the country. Specifically, it has donated the not inconsiderable amount of 10,000 euros to the Cruz Roja account that has been set up specifically to fund these efforts.

Gillian Hodges, president of Roundabout, announced that after the request made by the Cruz Roja Xàbia “we think there was no better destination for our funds than to make them available to those who are suffering from this terrible crisis.” For his part, Mike Rose, the charity’s treasurer, added that when the refugees begin to arrive in this area, “Roundabout will continue to help them as much as possible.”

To channel this generous aid, the store, which is located in Aduanas del Mar (in Calle Joan Fuster in front of CEIP Port de Xàbia; see map below), has chosen to do so through one of the official channels that have been established to channel citizen initiatives to support the people of Ukraine.

In addition, the Cruz Roja is the main recipient of the funds collected by Roundabout, to which it is continuously helping with the purchase of material for relief and emergency assistance, equipment for its ambulances, and for beach surveillance devices.
