Applications can be submitted from October 15 to 25.

Friday 15th October 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

Xàbia Council has opened the application period to apply for aid within the “RECUPEREM XÀBIA” initiative, a complementary line to the PARENTÉSIS plan of the Generalitat Valenciana and which aims to provide subsidies to the self-employed and SMEs in sectors affected by the COVID-19 health restrictions, especially those linked to celebrations, which had not been eligible for the regional funding package.

The activities included are: beauty salons, hairdressers, sewing workshops, make-up artists and beauticians, florists, leather crafts, leather goods, home textiles and catering, art galleries, clothing retail, perfumery, household goods, household items or toys, teaching staff of various teachings, masseurs and teaching academies.

The funding will also be available to SMEs with more than 10 workers linked to the tourism, sports or cultural sectors.

Applications for the aid, which totals a minimum of 2,000 euros, can be submitted from 3.00pm Friday 15 October until 3.00pm Monday 25 October. The procedure must be carried out through the town hall’s electronic office (link) and the terms and conditions are available for consultation on the town hall website (link).

Some 600,000 euros has been put aside for this initiative, adding to more than 500,000 euros of existing funding, which means that 1.1 million euros of direct aid has been allocated to support small businesses in covering their usual running costs in the face of a decline of revenue.

Councillor Ximo Segarra (Finance) has advised applicants to present their maximum justification for eligible expenses since, although the minimum aid is 2,000 euros, any surplus will be distributed proportionally amongst the beneficiaries.
