The Xàbia branch of the Cruz Roja has begun its pre-registration for those interested in being lifeguards and working in the service of prevention, surveillance, rescue and assistance on the beaches and coves of the municipality next summer.

To do this, it is necessary to take a course in water rescue and first aid that aims to “provide students with a technical qualification to perform safely and effectively their work as lifeguards. The course allows the applicant to acquire a series of tools to solve, favourably, critical situations that pose a serious and immediate danger to the lives of people immersed in water“.

This course will take place on the weekends between March 4th and April 30th, with the timings being Fridays from 5.00pm to 8.00pm, on Saturdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm and from 5.00pm to 8.00pm and on Sundays from 9.00am to 2.00pm.

To sign up for the training, the applicant must be at least 18 years old on or before June 1st 2022. In addition, there will be a physical test of endurance and coordination in the water to be able to access the course.

Interested persons should provide their contact details at the local headquarters of Cruz Roja Xàbia (Avenida de Alicante, 12) in person from Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 2.00pm or by calling 96 579 19 61 during the same hours.
