This Saturday 10th September, a new social zone ‘Joves Plus’ will be inaugurated, a space dedicated to meeting the demands of young people aged between 18 and 30 in Xàbia and assisting them with issues such as housing, work and sexual affective relationships.

Located in the Centre d’Arts Lambert in Carrer Major in the heart of the historic centre, this social space has been designed to be different from other municipal offices and councillor for Youth Montse Villaverde explained that this will make it easier for “young people to feel it as their own and make it their own“. It will be free to use, accompanied but not directed.

Mayor José Chulvi added that, “in a situation like the one we are experiencing, with many economic and social changes, it is important to open spaces like this, to accompany and advise young people“.

Amongst other things, ‘Joves Plus’ will provide computers, which can be used to study, work or simply connect to the Internet. In addition, staff from the Department of Youth will be able to offer advice to young people and help promote diversity, equality and citizen participation, providing a bridge between them and the administration so that they are aware of the services of offer as well as options and offers of which they may be beneficiaries.

The ‘Joves Plus’ social space will be inaugurated this Saturday 10th September at 8.00pm and will feature monologist Lluís Mosquera, who will be performing his show “Falten Referents” in the Capella de Santa Anna just before the official opening.

The opening hours will be 10.00am to 1.00pm Wednesday and Saturday, 5.00pm to 8.00pm Wednesday and Friday. During the first months, there will be activities and talks on topics such as obtaining the digital certificate, accessing digital resources and the ‘Bono Cultural‘.
