VIRUS UPDATE: IA rate in Valencian region has fallen to 39.03, the lowest in Spain

The Comunidad Valenciana has administered more than half a million doses of vaccine against COVID-19.

144 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 30 in Castellón, 114 in Valencia, and 80 in Alicante. In total, 383,415 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 3 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 5 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana, 2 in the province of Castellón, 1 in the province of Valencia, and 2 in the province of Alicante (Villajoyosa and Guardamar del Segura).

The origins of these new outbreaks can be assigned as follows:

  • 60% work, affecting 15 people
  • 40% social, affecting 10 people

Active Cases

The data shows that there are currently 4,005 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, which represents 1.01% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 15 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 7,025 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 773 Castellón (+1), 3,606 Valencia (+4), and 2,646 Alicante (+10).

Hospitalization

There are 533 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 33 Castellón (n/c) with 5 patients in ICU (-1), 261 Valencia (-10) with 80 in ICU (-2), and 239 (-16) Alicante with 64 in ICU (-3).

Recoveries

384 new recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 384,001 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

519,952 doses of the vaccine have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana. A total of 172,794 people have completed the vaccination programme in our region.

VACCINE UPDATE: Three people, all men aged 38, 41 and 50, are currently under observation after suffering bleeding disorders after being administered with the AstraZeneca vaccine in the Comunidad Valenciana. Symptoms of cerebral thrombosis and thrombocytopenia have not been observed and therefore they are not counted amongst the CVST cases that are being investigated by the Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC).
