Valencia prepares for implementation of COVID certificate

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana met with the Government Delegate, mayors of Valencia, Alicante and Elche, the president of the FVMP and heads of the National and Autonomous Police, and the Guardia Civil.

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has held a meeting with council representatives and police forces to share the procedures for the control and surveillance of the application of the measures related to the implementation of the COVID-19 certificate.

The coordination meeting was attended by the Minister of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo; the Minister for Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló; the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Gloria Calero; the mayor of Valencia, Joan Ribó; the mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala; the mayor of Elche, Carlos González; the president of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, Rubén Alfaro; the Councilor for Security of Castelló de la Plana, David Donate; and representatives of the National and Autonomous Police, and of the Guardia Civil.

A COVID certificate will be mandatory to access the interior areas of hospitality and restaurant sector establishments with a capacity of more than 50 people as well as leisure and entertainment venues and spaces for recreational activities with a restaurant service with the same capacity, and visits hospitals and public and private residences

In addition, this ‘passport’ will also be required for events, celebrations and music festivals, indoors and outdoors, when it is not feasible to use the mask at all times.

The certificate may be accredited to prove complete vaccination, a negative PCR in the last 72 hours, an antigen test in the last 48 hours or the recovering from the disease in the last 6 months, and will enter into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV). It will remain in force for a period of 30 calendar days, with the intention of covering the entire period of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
