At the beginning of each May, for just a few days, the historic centre and port zone of Xàbia come alive with flower crosses, vivid bursts of devotion crafted in petals and care. Created by the year’s mayorales and devoted locals, these ephemeral masterpieces, often costing many hundreds if not thousands of euros, mark the final days of the festivities honouring the town’s treasured image of Jesús Nazareno. Though their beauty fades quickly, their spirit endures, a tribute to faith, tradition, and the art of the moment.
