Photo Gallery: Fogueres 2025 – A Magical Night of Fire Jumping

On Monday, 23rd June, Xàbia came alive with one of its most eagerly awaited celebrations — the Night of the Fires — a magical evening that lit up the historic centre with flames, tradition, and thousands of joyful spectators. The local authorities estimated that around 13,000 people attended this year’s event.

As midnight neared, the traditional fire-jumping ritual took center stage. Six bonfires lit up the historic centre, drawing crowds of locals and visitors alike. Recognized as a Festival of Local Tourist Interest in the Comunidad Valenciana, the event was organized by the Fogueres Commission with support from Quintà L’Última Fornà, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.

The celebration began with the traditional procession, starting with the presentation of dried beans, followed by representatives of the Fogueres, local authorities, and the 2025 Quintà La Desmadrà. Each bonfire was lit by an official representative, with the fifth fire dedicated to the 2025 Fogueres Honorary Award, which this year was presented to Penya L’Escaldà — the original promoter of this iconic event.

Staying true to tradition, the evening culminated with the La Foguera de Trastos Vells – the Bonfire of Old Junk – which as always was organized by Penya El Gerrot. This seventh and final fire, symbolizing the burning away of negativity to make way for a fresh start, brought the ritual to a powerful close. Thousands gathered in an emotional atmosphere, casting their flower crowns into the flames and making wishes for the new cycle ahead.
