The reuse and recycling of the collected material allows for the creation of jobs for people at risk of social exclusion.

The parish of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, through its Càritas branch, has installed the first ARROPA Valencia de Xàbia textile collection point, a replacement for the chest that was located in the old cloister of the church compound for many years and will now used to store donations of books, toys and household accessories which are regularly put up for sale at charity markets.

The container has been located in the most accessible point of the church, next to the side entrance in Calle Churruca, an area free of architectural bariers, steps, movement of people (except during events, obviously), suitable for residents with reduced mobility, and it usually open all day.

It will be used primarily to collect clothes and shoes and other used textiles which provides both a solidarity and environment aspect, since the reuse and recycling of the collected material allows for the creation of jobs for people at risk of social exclusion. In this case, work is provided to those who are in charge of carrying out the phases of the textile cycle at Koopera: collection, sorting, preparation and sale. These people received preparation and qualification that enables them to later join the ordinary labour market.

Cáritas Diocesana de Valencia promoted and created ARROPA Valencia with the intention of promoting the socio.labour insertion of people in a precarious position and has been part of the social network of the Koopera cooperative group since 2014.
