Opus Di Jazz performs this Saturday in Xàbia

The group is formed from Valencian musician who are all members of the National Orchestra of Spain.

Xàbia’s 2022 cultural programme opens this weekend with one of its most established and popular seasons – Jazz a 100. The first performance will be provided by Opus Di Jazz, a project led by flautist Juana Guillem and accompanied by her Jazz Trio of Pablo Igualada on piano, Pablo Múzquiz on double bass and Rafa Gálvez on percussion.

This group is formed from Valencian musician who are all members of the National Orchestra of Spain and therefore are great performers trained in classic music but who approach jazz with all the sensitivity and excellence of good professionals.

The concert will take place on Saturday 5th February at 9.00pm at the Conservatorio de Música Profesional off Plaza de la Constitución with free admission.

Children’s Cinema

Also within the cultural programme, there will be a new appointment for the younger members of the community with the first event in the Children’s Cinema in Valencian season. The screening of the film “Pipi i el senyor sense son” will take place on Saturday 5th February at 5.30pm in the Casa del Cultura in Plaça del Baix in the heart of the historic centre. Admission is free and the film, which addresses how boys and girls experience the arrival of a new brother, a value-laden story about sibling relationships, is suitable for children aged 3 years and above.
