One outbreak detected in Xàbia, work origin; 5 recorded in Marina Alta

6,130 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 766 in Castellón, 3,073 in Valencia, and 2,291 in Alicante. In total, 340,981 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 13 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 75 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana; by province, the distribution is 5 in Castellón, 49 in Valencia, and 21 in Alicante, of which 5 were in the Marina Alta region as follows:

• Calp: 1 outbreak (6 cases – social)
• Dénia: 1 outbreak (4 cases – social)
• Ondara: 2 outbreaks (9 cases – social; 4 cases – social)
• Xàbia: 1 outbreak (11 cases – work)

There have now been 76 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.

The origins of the new outbreaks in the region can be assigned 65% social, 24% education, 11% work.

Active Cases

The data shows that there are currently 62,062 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 17.61% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 99 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 5,283 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 632 Castellón, 2,708 Valencia, and 1,943 Alicante.

Hospitalization

There are 3,993 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 405 Castellón with 53 patients in ICU, 2,069 Valencia with 341 in ICU, and 1,519 Alicante with 238 in ICU.

Recoveries

7,590 recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; a total of 285,119 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

182,751 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana, 187,494 Pfizer/BioNtech and 4,257 Modena. Up to now, 76,143 people has completed the vaccination programme in our region.
