Council has received almost 450 applications from self-employed
and mutualists in the municipality for financial aid
to support those who had to cease their economic activity
during the national State of Alarm. The applicants
have applied to receive direct aid valued at 1,500 euros
offered by the local administration as part of the 'Recuperem
Xàbia' plan for the economic recovery of
the town, a support initiative for which the Council
has put aside some 1.5 million euros.
Ximo Segarra (Office of Citizen Attention and Registration)
said that a total of 446 applications have been received which
will now be reviewed by council staff to verify that
the correct documentation has been submitted and that
all the requirements set have been met. Once the application
has been reviewed, the Council will transfer the funds to
the successful applicants between September and October.
on from this first direct aid plan, the Council is already
working on the regulations of a second initiative which
will be maimed at professionals who were not forced
to close their businesses during the State of Alarm
but saw their income fall by less than half. The regulations
will be debated at the next plenary session of the Council.
