the 2019/20 season brought to a premature end by the
COVID-19 health crisis, CD Jávea have already
begun to prepare for the next campaign in which it has
high hopes to improve on its performances in recent
seasons and gain promotion to the national category
for the first time in 25 years. After Diego Miñana
was named as head coach at the end of last month, the
club has confirmed that three key players will be staying
on to help the club with its ambitions next season.
Guerrero is a proven goalscorer and claimed 16 goals
last season. The 30-year-old, a native of San Joan d'Alacant,
has scored 139 goals in his senior career at several
clubs including CD Dénia, Villajoyosa CF, CF
La Nucia amongst others and has Third Division
experience with FC Jove Español.
Alvaro Lopez is extending his second spell at
the club after he returned last season from a spell
in the Third Division with Rayo Ibense CF. A tricky
young player who has the confidence to attack from
the centre of the park, he has scored 27 goals in his
short career, 15 of which have been for Jávea.
Many observers consider that he has great potential
and drive to become on the club's premium players next
fans will be pleased to see Ayoze Espinar agree
to stay for a fourth season. The 25-year-old defender
was one of the club's most consistent players last
season, featuring in all but one of the 26 matches played.
His confident charges down the right flank continued
to confuse opposition defenders and delight the fans.
out of the club is striker Rubén Ortolá
who this week signed for UD Calpe, leaving his home
club to seek better opportunities elsewhere.
Jávea placed fifth in the Group III league table
for the 2019/20 campaign after the season was finally
brought to a close by the Valencian Football Federation.
