CHINESE BUSINESSES IN XÀBIA DONATE 6,600 MASKS TO MUNICIPALITY

Chinese businesses in Xàbia have made an important donation of some 6,600 masks to the Council to help provide a degree of protection during the current Covid-19 crisis. The donation will be divided amongst the different services in the town, with 3,000 heading directly to the health centre whilst the rest will be distributed amongst local police officers, the Guardia Civil, the street cleaning teams and municipal building personnel as well as the Protección Civil and Cruz Roja so that they can continue to provide an important public service as safely as possible.

Mayor José Chulvi thanked the Chinese community in the town for this gesture and to resident María Ángeles Espasa Castelló who has acted as a liaison between the Council and the businesses who have wanted to send a message of solidarity in the fight against the spread of the disease.

The mayor also took the opportunity to send of message of encouragement to the population in the face on the very difficult times that they are going through and expressed his gratitude for their effort, responsibility and commitment to quarantine instructions that have been activated to stop the pandemic.

Los empresarios chinos de Xàbia han realizado hoy una importante donación de lotes de mascarillas al Ayuntamiento. En total han entregado 6.600 unidades.

3.000 de ellas irán directamente al Centro de Salud y el resto serán repartidas entre los agentes de Policía Local, Guardia Civil, el personal de limpieza viaria y de los edificios municipales así como los voluntarios de Protección Civil o Cruz Roja para que puedan desarrollar de forma segura su importante labor de servicio público.

El alcalde, José Chulvi, ha agradecido esta acción solidaria a la comunidad china y a la vecina María Ángeles Espasa Castelló, quien ha hecho de mediadora entre el Consistorio y los empresarios que han querido lanzar un mensaje de lucha conjunta.

Chulvi ha aprovechado para mandar un mensaje de ánimo a la población ante los momentos tan difíciles que están atravesando y agradecido su
esfuerzo, responsabilidad y compromiso con las instrucciones sanitarias para frenar esta pandemia.
