STATE AND REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES CONFIRM FUNDING AID

javeamigos.com | STATE AND REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES PROMISE RECOVERY FUNDING

Xàbia was visited by the Minister for Science and Innovation Pedro Duque who inspected the damage alongside mayor José Chulvi and the Government's deputy delegate Araceli Poblador in order to prepare a report of the Council of Ministers so that disaster recovery funding can be provided to assist the town in returning to normality in the aftermath of Storm Gloria.

In addition, the Valencian regional government Vice-President Rubén Martínez Dalmau also wanted to see first-hand the effects of one of the most severe maritime storms in living history as well as the results of the preliminary cleaning-up operation that the local council has carried out since the last winds and heavy seas began to die away.

Mayor José Chulvi explained that the representatives from state and regional administrations have both confirmed that funding will be made available to assist with the cleaning up of the coast of Xàbia and he thanked both for their concern and interest in the situation the town has been going through. He also praised the incredible work that has been done by the work brigades in clearing promenades and coastal roads but added that there will still a lot of work to do.
