CD Jávea claimed their first points of the season in the most delicious of ways, crushing fierce rivals CD Dénia on their own turf. Two goals from César and a strike from Álvarito secured the victory to lift the rojiblancos into seventh spot after two games. Coach Juan Carlos Signes, ex-Dénia player and coach, took advantage of recent turmoil suffered by the hosts who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Third Division last season but issues with player wages unsettled the squad, causing many key players to depart for other clubs, some of whom followed their former coach to Jávea. But although they might not be quite who they once were, victory over arch-rivals CD Dénia is always a sweet one!

The team from the sunny side of the mountain sought to take control of the game right from the start but had to fight hard against the hosts who hustled and squeezed the midfield to try and prevent them from doing so. But it was a defensive error which Jávea capitalised on when Álvarito broke free to fire a powerful shot past the keeper to make it 1-0 after 24 minutes. For the rest of the first half, the Jávea midfield worked hard to mark Dénia's dangerman Santafé out of the game, pressuring him every time he received the ball which meant that the home striker had few opportunities to cancel out the opener.

In the second half, Jávea maintained control of the game and, after just ten minutes in, it was another defensive error that allowed César to double the advantage with a strike that went into the net off a post. Dénia worked hard with Santafé starting to cause problems. Navarro hit the crossbar and then Santafé himself picked up a loose ball and smashed his measured shot against the post with the keeper beaten. However it was Jávea who would score again, three minutes from time, with César controlling the ball well before sending a fierce shot into the net about which the keeper could do nothing. And then, just seconds before the final whistle, the hosts claimed a consolation from the penalty spot to make it 3-1 final score to CD Jávea.
