CD Jávea chalked up their
biggest win of the season to move fourth in the table
and maintain themselves in the race for the top three.
A hat-trick from Adrián Salom and strikes from
Lucas Bou, leading scorer Palau and super-sub Favio
helped the rojiblancos to crush struggling CD Monte
Sion who were much better than the scoreline suggests.
game began with Jávea claiming early dominance
after just five minutes when Salom opened the scoring
after Palau could not connect to Michael's excellent
cross. The visitors might have equalised on 11 minutes
but Jaime's effort was fired harmlessly wide of the
goal whilst the rojiblancos might have doubled their
advantage four minutes later when Palau rose to meet
a corner from Marcos but his effort at the near post
was too wide. On 25 minutes Jávea did indeed
get the chance to widen the gap between the sides when
they were awarded a penalty after Lucas Bou was fouled
inside the area by Salcedo and the spot kick was dispatched
confidentially by Salom.
the visitors refused to concede defeat so early in the
game and forced a succession of corners but both Julio
Pla and Salcedo couldn't convert the chances. On 35
minutes Lucas Bou collected a great pass from Adrià
Ramis but his shot was well-saved by the goalkeeper
and Jávea continued to push forward to find a
third goal and kill off the opposition with chances
by Palau, Salon and Ramis, the latter shot forcing the
keeper into a great save.
onslaught continued in the second-half. Just seconds
in, Ramis hit the bar with a powerful header before
Jávea then scored three in eight minutes. The
first came from Lucas Bou, his seventh of the season,
when he collected a great pass from Palau and fired
home. Salom completed hi hat-trick on 57 minutes after
a spectacular pass from Lucas Bou, the first hat-trick
by a Javea player since Faye's triple against UD Canals
in September 2017, whilst leading striker Palau
finally got himself on the scoresheet after initially
hitting the post but managing to smash home the rebound.
The stunned visitors still fought hard and managed to
score a consolation through Laurence Doe on 62 minutes
and the goal spurred them on. But it was the rojiblancos
who would have the last real chance of the game with
super-sub nodding home a corner from substitute Javi
Bas to make it 6-1, the club's biggest win since a 6-0
thrashing of UD Canals in early September 2017 and the
biggest home win since late April 2015 when Jávea
smashed eight past relegated CD Chella.
