First half goals from Ayoze and
new signing Ramis secured what would turn into a comfortable
victory for CD Jávea to maintain touch with the
promotion play-off zone at the top of the table. The
rojiblancos dominated the game and might have chalked
up an even greater victory but for the woodwork of the
early kick-off meant that the spectators could
enjoy the wonderful spring-like conditions as sunshine
bathed the stadium as the teams did battle on the pitch.
Jávea dominated from the opening whistle, eventually
forcing a corner after five minutes from which Roberto
sent a dangerous floating ball which the keeper managed
to pull out of the air under pressure from Lucas Bou.
Adrián Ramis, who arrived from Third Division
side UD Alzira at the beginning of the month, was
making his debut in the central defensive position but
was comfortable enough in bringing the ball forward
to create an attack alongside Michael and Lucas Bou.
was creating havoc down the left flank, the visiting
defenders finding it difficult to contain him. On seven
minutes he charged down the line and sent a high cross
into the centre which was claimed by the keeper but
showed the intention to capitalise of an apparent weakness
down that side of the pitch. A few minutes later Jávea
forced a corner and Salom sent a delightful ball into
a packed six-yard box where Ayoze rose to meet the ball
and divert it powerfully into the net with his head
to put the home side into the lead.
Jávea dominated, they began to switch to and
fro to give the visitors no chance in adapting to the
onslaught. Forward Lucas Bou was creating havoc with
his determination with the ball at his feet and after
several passes across the edge of the penalty area,
he found the tricky Roberto who sent in a powerful
shot towards goal but his effort was smothered by the
keeper. A few minutes later some more great passing
saw the ball fall to Lucas Bou but his snatched effort
flew well over the bar.
it wasn't quite all one-way traffic and Contestano's
Cremades managed to shake off his marker down the right-hand
side and charged towards the line before firing a powerful
ball low across the face of the goal which eluded everyone,
attacker and defender alike, and all it needed was an
out-stretched leg to have brought the visitor's
back level. It was a lucky escape for Jávea from
what was a rare attack by the opposition.
35 minutes Jávea's Michael skipped down the left
to the line and then swerved past his marker to charge
into the area and then put it a powerful low cross into
the crowded goal-mouth. The keeper missed it and it
found new signing Ramis on the far post who, after initially
finding the ball stuck underneath his feet, swung his
leg to drive the ball into the back of the net. A goal.
But on the other side of the pitch, a flag was raised
for an apparent off-side but it simply couldn't have
been so since the ball has been passed back from a forward
position. After a brief consultation with his assistant,
the referee finally indicated that it was indeed a goal.
2-0 to Jávea.
to the first-half, the second period was relatively
quiet. Jávea continued their domination and on
51 minutes they might have scored a third with a succession
of shots, first from Palau whose shot was
well-blocked by the keeper before the striker hit
the post from a narrow angle with the rebound. The ball
bounced back out into play where the rojiblancos won
a free-kick just outside the penalty area which Paco
fired just wide of the left-hand post.
had their moments with the tricky Mateo forcing Jávea
keeper Edu into a save before substitute Lucas let fly
with a speculative sot from distance which flew well-wide
of the goal. Jávea's Roberto was still causing
problems down the flanks and on 72 minutes combined
well with Lucas Bou to finally cross the ball into the
middle which was half-cleared to substitute Paolo whose
snatched shot was just wide of the left post. As the
minutes ticked away the rojiblancos swept forward and
on 81 minutes Ramis hit the bar after some great passing
work through the middle of the park with Lucas Bou and
Marcos. The final action of the game feel to Marcos
who had been trying a few long-range shots and his final
effort flew just too high.
